Student Testimonials
Hear from a handful of students who I've worked with throughout the years.
John Castle
Megan is a stats wiz and an amazing teacher! She was also the first person to mentor me in research. Even though our project together was a simple analysis, I needed a lot of guidance. Fortunately, her ability to break down complex ideas and explain them in a straightforward way is truly remarkable. Megan helped me run the code, interpret the findings, and prepare to present our poster at a national conference. As I continued to learn to code in R, which involved a lot of trial and error, she supported me through the frustrating moments until it finally clicked! Not long after, I was able to design my own simple study and analyze the data, and I could also more readily understand when advanced students and researchers presented more complex analyses. I'm now using some of those more complex statistical approaches as a PhD student. I definitely credit my strong foundation in research and data analysis to the things I learned from Megan, and she was a huge support in motivating me to stick with research and pursue a PhD.

Working with Megan was my first experience in an academic psychological research setting, and it shaped so much of what came after. I learned how to run analyses, design studies, and also how to manage projects and collaborate in a professional setting. Those lessons carried into my later roles in marketing and business development, and eventually gave me the confidence to pursue graduate training in counseling.
What stood out most was how engaging she made the work- combining her strong background in psychology and statistics with creativity, insight, and a commitment to excellence. She is easygoing, supportive, and inspiring and lessons I learned from her continue to carry over into the way I think, work, and grow.

Megan was the most important mentor I had in all my four years of college. Not only did she teach me to think critically, but she also completely shifted the way I approach psychological problems. Because of her, I learned to slow down, question my biases and assumptions, and embrace the nuanced complexities that naturally arise in our field. Before I believed in myself, Megan believed in me. Her support helped me to trust my instincts and go after my dreams of pursuing a doctorate in psychology.
She pushed me to always think deeper and ask the harder questions, and it is because of her guidance that I achieved my goals inside and outside of college. She helped shape me into the kind of clinician and person I want to be: thoughtful, intuitive, accepting, and rigorous. When I ask myself the harder questions and embrace the challenges of my doctorate, it is her mode of thinking that I take on and her voice that carries through. Anyone who gets to work with Megan would be incredibly lucky!

I am a Clinical Psychology PhD student at Rutgers University, and I truly couldn’t have gotten here without Megan’s mentorship. As an undergraduate, she welcomed me into her lab and taught me how to design studies, analyze data, and present findings. Her guidance in journal clubs, statistical workshops, and poster presentations gave me the skills and confidence to pursue doctoral research. Megan’s supportive and empowering mentorship style gave me the confidence I carry with me to this day.

Megan advised me while I was a post-bac student studying social psychology at Columbia University, where I also worked as a Research Assistant in her lab. She was foundational to my success as a researcher. She served as a mentor, helping me come up with interesting research questions, understand complex statistical concepts, and achieve ambitious goals.
Megan also inspired me as a woman in STEM. Brilliant and highly skilled in statistics, she tackles complex problems with confidence and models persistence and intellectual rigor. Watching her inspired me, as a new researcher, to pursue my ideas fearlessly and approach my work with confidence.
As a direct result of having the fortune of working with Megan, I was able to take my newfound research skills and land a job at an international research and civic non-profit, where I now— four years later— serve as the Research Manager for a large team. I cannot overstate how much Megan helped me get to where I am today. I would highly recommend anyone interested in pursuing a career in research or statistics work with her.
